What You Can Do, If You Are Feeling Down:

  1. Talk to someone you trust about your feelings.
  2. Seek professional help. Your local health-care worker or psychologist is a good place to start. You can also take an online depression before going to any psychologist.
  3. Stay connected. Keep in contact with family and friends.
  4. Exercise regularly, even if it’s just a short walk.
  5. Stick to regular eating and sleeping habits.
  6. Avoid or restrict alcohol intake and refrain from using illicit drugs, they can worsen depression.
  7.  Continue doing things you have always enjoyed, even when you don’t feel like it.
  8. Be aware of persistent negative thoughts and self-criticism and try to replace them with positive thoughts. Congratulate yourself on your achievement.
